Working from the Shell Trackside Laboratory inside Scuderia Ferrari HP鈥檚 garage, at least two Shell Trackside Analysts and one team leader work closely with team engineers to ensure all Shell products meet FIA regulations and are race-ready from the first practice lap to the checkered flag.
During the 2024 Formula One season, Shell Trackside Analysts generated over 35,000 data points from Shell Helix Ultra race engine oil samples across more than 25 Grand Prix events. By collecting this data over the weekend 鈥 and across the lifetime of the power unit 鈥 Shell provides Scuderia Ferrari HP engineers with key insights from inside the engine, like a blood analysis, helping them make the right strategic decisions in real time.
Each race weekend, Shell Trackside Analysts also assess more than 25 samples of Shell V-Power race fuel to ensure compliance and consistency with FIA regulations. In total, more than 150 samples are tested per Grand Prix 鈥 covering all race fuels and lubricants to keep performance running at its peak.
