The Challenge:
The manufacturer faced an issue of excessive oil loss fromits 32 body maker machines, which run continuously 鈥� 24 hours aday, 7 days a week.
The Solution:
The Shell technical team conducted a comprehensive survey, inspecting 253 potential leak points and assessing the rate of oil leakage from each of these points.
Results:
The leak detection survey found that approximately one third, 26,979 gallons, of their annual oil usage was lost due to bodymaker leaks.
The report has allowed the canning facility to prioritise work, reducing their total cost of ownership鈥� enabling the manufacturer to save an estimated $247,400 each year1.
